Asylum

These four walls~ I try to flee.
But return, I must.

A house of chaos,
our screams~ deafening.

Together we cry,
alone we suffer.

Devastations of what has been,
Our severed edges collide.

Cutting into the flesh,
until there's nothing but the blood..

Our blood.

So much pain, it soaks this castle like a godless storm.
Seeping from our fingertips,
extinguishing all light.

Fine lines of hatred and love have aged into distortion.

I must escape, But with nowhere to go..
Forced to stay by the inconvenience of circumstance.

Poisoned~ we grow weary.
Of our lives~ so trialled.

Abusing your ability to inflict,
Basking in the tears shed by those you love.

The air here is thick~ with stale bitterness, it chokes us.

Living in resentment.

Our shelter is a home no more, but an asylum.
Gnarled thorns of intricate designs,
enclosing us within.

Sanity is banished.

Together we cry,
but alone~ we shall fall.
